Chasing Sadie in Basic Denim

When Sadie started walking at 9 months old, she had all of the determination in the world.  Everywhere she walked, she strutted with purpose and she tried her very best to keep up with her big sister.  We snapped these photos back in October just before Sadie's first birthday. If you scroll down to the first photo below, it's one of my favorite photos of Sadie ever.  It perfectly captures her spirit and confidence and it melts my heart. I hope she walks like this into her first day of school, into the college of her dreams and even her first job interview someday. Rounding up a number of shots today from this particularly warm day in October when Sadie was running around in the most beautiful park in Pasadena, California with all the gusto in the world.

Outfits Of The Day

Outfit-wise, Sadie wore a purple linen dress (similar here) with the cutest flared sleeves.  She lived in this dress all fall and I'm still trying to squeeze her into it but girlfriend is now almost Naiya's size (3T!) and truth be told, it's a tight squeeze! We'll definitely be buying it in a few different colors a size up for spring. Linking to a couple of similar looks below. Also linking to similar baby booties to the pair Sadie's wearing in these photos that we absolutely love.  They're super affordable but they're made of the softest leather and they come in a number of different colors.

I wore a basic white button down and denim shorts which have often been my uniform throughout quarantine. These shorts happen to be the pair I wear most and I love that they get more comfy with each wear. Linking to them below because I highly recommend them in multiple washes. They run true to size and I especially love their perfectly-positioned high-waist.

Accessory-wise, I'm wearing a crystal choker I've been wearing on repeat for a number of months now from Kristin Cavallari's line Uncommon James. I happen to be a big fan of her simple, delicate jewelry.I'm also wearing two different sunnies in these photos because Sadie wanted to hold a pair too and we kept switching back and forth. Both of these sunglasses (here and here) are amongst my faves. The pink pair is only $14.91 so you really can't go wrong there! I topped off the look with classic loafers that were a splurge I bought before babies that still pair so well with just about everything (more about them here). Photography: Azusa Takano
