Halloween Recap & Must-Have Black Dress

Our family had the best Halloween yet last night! We did a number of different costume changes (my favorite for the girls can be seen on my IG here). We snapped these photos before I finished prepping my first look which was supposed to be an Audrey Hepburn-inspired look but it wasn’t fully finished yet. Let’s just say getting the girls to pose with me for photos is not as easy as it was when they were tiny! In fact, it’s mass chaos!

This was the first year the girls really understood the magic of Halloween and they killed it with their trick or treating! We headed out to the Toluca Lake and Valley Village areas of LA where the houses are decorated to-a-tee for Halloween. Think Universal Studios meets Haunted Hollywood movie set. The homes here go ALL OUT—animatronics, spooky smoke, giant blown up pumpkins the size of the entire homes behind them.

In the end, Naiya made out especially like a bandit (her pumpkin basket was overflowing with candy!) and Sadie begged every house for more and more candy and of course, she got what she wanted! Today, I’m focused on hiding the candy somewhere so the girls don’t completely break from sugar overload!

Outfit Of The Day

Sharing photos with you today of the girls and I and I was obsessed with this black dress from Crosby by Mollie Burch. If you’re not yet familiar with this brand, they make the cutest, most comfy dresses in neutrals and the most beautiful, colorful patterns alike.

I happened to gravitate towards this dress because the sleeves have such exaggerated volume. I also love the quilted details on this dress and it’s A-line shape. I think it’s perfect for fall and for the holidays. Linking to this look and others below.
