Paris: Walkable Shoes
Happy last day of 2023! This year was a winding road and I couldn’t be more excited to jump into 2024 for a fresh start full of new possibilities. Along these lines, to ring in the New Year, my sister Adena and I decided to book last-minute tickets to Paris the second week of January!
Why Paris?
We’ve never done anything like this before together because life has always gotten in the way. We’re seven years apart and we live on opposite coasts—I live in LA and she lives in NYC. Both of us have gone through some big life changes recently and when we realized we both have the same week free at the top of the year, we decided to go all-in and book tickets for her birthday!
I’ve been to Paris a couple of times—once in college, and once with my hubby when we were newly dating. I couldn’t love the city more and I’ve always dreamed of going back to spend more time there. I’ve never been on a girl’s trip to Paris and I can’t wait to do all of the girlie things with Adena.
What To Pack?
In terms of packing, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed because I don’t own many warm jackets or boots like I used to when I lived in upstate New York growing up. Paris is very cold right now and I know I need to prepare.
Here in Los Angeles, my closet is perpetually stocked with light outfits for the hottest summers and extremely mild winters so I need to do some quick shopping. I also realized that my shoe came is not at all prepared for walking miles a day (other than my running shoes). After all, nobody walks in LA!
Walkable Shoe Round-Up For Paris
With all of the above said, I’m sharing the top nine shoes I currently have my eye on for the trip which are comfy and versatile. From Gucci loafers (which I already have in my closet) to New Balance, Golden Goose, and Nike trainers, to black boots, I’m going to narrowing this list down to about three pairs in total that will actually fit in my suitcase.
I am definitely going to bring my Chanel pumps above to wear at night with tights (weather permitting!), and I’m dreaming of buying Chanel flats at the flagship store when I get there. I’m loving the pink pair I shared below (as well as the more affordable pair from Margaux), but I’ll probably stick to a more neutral color.
