Wide Legged Pants + Red Moto Jacket

Today's outfit combines a few of my favorite wardrobe staples of the moment: red moto jackets, wide-legged pants and turtlenecks. As a petite girl (I'm 5"4 on a good day!), I stayed away from wide legged pants for a while because I thought they would drown me and possibly make me look shorter.

That said, I recently dipped a toe in with these patterned ones (similar here and here) and I loved them so much, I'm now I am filling up my closet with more. It turns out that high-waisted wide legged pants actually elongate petite frames--especially when paired with a nude heel.

They also look great on all different body types because they cinch right at the tiniest part of your waist and they add volume to your lower-half in a good way.

In terms of the rest of my outfit, since Los Angeles has such warm winters, I've been incorporating knits into my wardrobe that are season-appropriate but also lightweight so that I'm not sweating profusely in the name of fashion.

This black turtleneck (only $25!) has become a winter wardrobe staple of mine. I love pairing it with everything--beneath sleeveless dresses (as I did here), with denim (here), with blazers and beneath button-downs.

Today, I paired my turtleneck with this red moto jacket (only $47!). I topped off the look with my favorite classic nude heels.I can't believe I have only a week and a couple of days left before I go back to work and leave maternity leave behind.

Naiya's sleep regression is continuing and although I wish I had better news, she's still not taking a bottle. So nervous that she won't eat all day while I'm at work. Fingers crossed we get this under control at the eleventh hour!
