Our New Home: The Family Room

Welcome back to another post of "Our New Home" series where we're showing sneak peeks of our new home room-by-room.  In case you missed our first couple of posts, we recently shared photos of our master bathroom and kitchen. Today, it's all about our family room.

Our family room is part of an open concept design which connects to our kitchen. While decorating-wise it's still very much a work in progress, we're loving the travel wall we've created so far. It features vintage travel posters of every city Phil and I have traveled together. We can't wait for more family trips to come so that we can fill the two empty spaces at the bottom.

So far in this room, we have a large blue couch, rug with hints of blue, and a three-tired wooden coffee table. Other than that, we have some more work to do! On the opposite wall from the travel wall, there is a whole wall of beautiful built-ins that perfectly match the cabinetry in the kitchen. They allow us to seamlessly hide most of Naiya and Sadie's toys which has been a true game-changer. I'll share snaps of these built-ins in another post. The family room leads out to a beautiful backyard through double doors. I love that the doors are glass so they let extra light into our home.
