Where to Snag the Perfect White Button Down

In my 20's, my style was all about quantity over quality. It was about getting my hands on the trendiest pieces of the moment (and spoiler alert: they wouldn't make it past one or two seasons!). In my 30's, it's all about saving up for quality, classic basics that will stand the test of time. Less is definitely more and I find it so much more chic. Styling a classic outfit with you today that I've been wearing on repeat because it's so versatile. This white button down happens to be one of my ultimate favorite pieces in my closet and it's so beautifully-made.

Classic Pieces To Invest In

I've been on the hunt for the perfect white button down for a while now. Over the years, I've scooped up a couple of my favorites from Madewell, Banana Republic and JCrew. All of these button downs are affordable and  look beautiful. That said, the button-down I'm wearing today by Frances Valentine is just a different breed (similar here). It's definitely more of a splurge but I've found that the material feels more elevated and really lasts.

I paired today's look with mid-thigh Levis shorts which I love because so comfortable. While the hems are raw, I like that these shorts are longer in length. They're Levis are 501's which is such a classic cut that's always in style. They also come in a shorter style in case you're not ready for longer shorts yet.

I paired these shorts and button-down with simple white strappy heels (similar here and here), along with a black classic bag also by Frances Valentine. I topped off today's look with vintage gold accessories, a hair scarf ,and 90's-inspired sunnies. Rectangular sunnies help make any outfit look more current right now.
