Third Trimester Update

Phil and I are so excited to officially announce that we're expecting a baby girl! Throughout the beginning of my pregnancy, I was completely convinced that we were having a boy so this news came as a total surprise to me. Of course I've always dreamed of having a little girl to dress up and we couldn't be happier!

I am now 28 weeks preggo today and I've entered my third trimester--the final stretch! In hitting this milestone, it feels like a few changes have literally happened overnight: I've officially popped and am bursting at the seams, I'm constantly a mix of hungry, too-full and nauseous (so weird!) and I can no longer sleep through the night without having to use the bathroom at least twice (I swear the baby is constantly sitting on my bladder!). Pregnancy continues to surprise me but I'm staying positive and am hanging in there!Phil has been such an amazing rock throughout our journey so far and I even came home from work the past couple of nights to find him researching away on the best baby products for our registry.

He's helped to make the experience of registering so much less overwhelming than it would have been on my own and I'll be forever grateful (not to mention, he found some amazing products I'm really excited about!). Looking forward to sharing more about our favorite products soon.I'm sure Phil is just as nervous as I am for all of the changes coming our way but out of the two of us, I'm currently the bundle of nerves. While I could not be more excited to meet our daughter, now that our due date is getting closer and closer, I'm realizing just how nervous I am for the birth itself.

Like many first time moms-to-be who've come before me, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around how much pain I will be in throughout labor itself and I am super nervous. I'm looking forward to hopefully nailing down some extra support through the help of a doula or midwife and if anyone has any advice in terms of how to stay calm throughout the experience, I'm all ears!

Outfit-wise, I've been living in maxi dresses over the past few weeks. I'm thankful the weather in LA has been so beautiful that I can comfortably wear these on repeat with flats or tiny heels.  I scooped up this particular black maxi at Zara (similar here), (here) and (here) and it's become one of my favorite pieces in my closet. I love how comfy and roomy this dress is even though it's not maternity and I love that it looks great layered under moto and denim jackets when it gets chilly at night. I also love the dainty little bows on the straps. I topped off today's look with pink sunnies because the outfit needed a pop of girly color.
